Every Tech Accounting client gets full access to FreeAgent’s limited company plan as part of the monthly fee. Bought directly, that plan lists at £33 a month or £330 a year plus VAT, so the software alone covers a good part of what you pay us.
Because we are certified FreeAgent Partners, your account is set up and configured by us: bank feeds connected, VAT scheme and payroll settings entered, opening balances brought across from your old software. If you already have a FreeAgent account, we take it over rather than starting again.
We work in the same FreeAgent account you see. When you raise an invoice or photograph a receipt, your accountant sees it straight away, which is why our answers come quickly and your year-end accounts are prepared from books that are already up to date.

Is FreeAgent really free with Tech Accounting?
Yes. FreeAgent’s standard limited company plan is included in your £120 a month plus VAT fee, with no time limit. You do not pay FreeAgent separately.
I already use FreeAgent. Can you take over my existing account?
Yes. We become the accountant on your existing account, so your history stays where it is. From then on the subscription is included in your fee.
Can you migrate me from Xero, QuickBooks or Sage?
Yes. We bring across your customers, suppliers, outstanding invoices and opening balances, connect your bank feed and check the first month’s reconciliation with you. Historic transactions stay accessible in your old software’s export.
Why FreeAgent rather than Xero or QuickBooks?
Xero and QuickBooks are built for businesses with stock, staff and multiple users. FreeAgent is built for one-person companies: day-rate invoicing, a personal tax view for the director, and a tax timeline that shows what is coming. For a contractor it does more with less setup.
Does FreeAgent handle VAT and payroll?
Yes. VAT returns are prepared and submitted from FreeAgent, including the Flat Rate Scheme, and payroll for the director runs in it too. We operate both for you as part of the service.
What does the accounting service include?
